Visit us in Aachen

Whether by car, plane or train – here you can find out the easiest way to get to us in Aachen.

Access via highway A4 (Cologne/Aachen) and A44 (Düsseldorf/Lüttich) to highway junction Aachen, then follow A4 towards Antwerp/Heerlen. Leave the highway at the Laurensberg exit and turn right towards Aachen Laurensberg. Take the first right onto the Toledo Ring in the direction of Maastricht (Klinikum). Take the RWTH-Melaten exit in the underpass. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit into Forckenbeckstraße. After approx. 1 km there is free parking on the left-hand side (sign WZLforum), from there approx. 5 min. walk to the institute, follow the signs “WZLforum”.

Fly to Cologne, Düsseldorf or Maastricht (NL). From there by rental car (from Cologne or Düsseldorf approx. 100 km, from Maastricht approx. 35 km) via the A4 or A44 to Aachen.

Take the train to Hbf. Cologne (change trains) and then to Aachen Hbf. or Aachen West. Take the S-Bahn to Hbf. Düsseldorf (change trains), and then to Aachen Hbf. or Aachen West.

Take the train to Aachen main station or Aachen West.
Then take a cab to the institute or take bus line 3B from the main station stop, line 3A from the Aachen West stop to the RWTH Campus stop or line 13B to the Turmstraße stop, change to line 12 or 22 to the Wilfried-König-Straße stop, from there approx. 5 ;in. Walk to the institute, follow the signs to “WZLforum”.

Parking facilities & parking ticket

There are only limited parking spaces directly at the institute. If possible, please use the central parking lot on Forckenbeckstraße. The walk to the institute takes about 5 minutes.

On July 1, 2011, RWTH Aachen University introduced parking space management in its parking areas.
This means that you will need a parking ticket for parking zone U to attend one of our events if you are arriving in your own car or a rental car. You will find the corresponding parking spaces at the central parking lot Forckenbeckstraße (detailed directions in your registration confirmation; please enter “Forckenbeckstraße, 52074 Aachen” in your navigation device). Please place the ticket clearly visible in your vehicle. Your parking permit is not valid for the parking areas marked “S”, “Gast” or “Besucher Campus GmbH” or the parking garage next to the production cluster, but only for parking area U! The ticket is only valid on the specified date. The parking authorization will be checked by the RWTH Aachen University service staff. Vehicles parked illegally will be towed away for a fee. If you need a parking ticket, you can order a parking ticket before the event.
